A 19-year-old man in Cilacap, Central Java cut off his own penis and tossed it down a well after his girlfriend broke up with him, a hospital official said.

The man, a resident of Bantarsari village , was rushed to Cilacap Municipal Hospital after slicing off the organ with a knife on Monday. Hospital director Sugeng Budi Susanto said he was in stable condition.

“His wound could have been fatal but he will survive and we are trying our best to heal it,” Sugeng told Metro TV.

The patient's family tried to retrieve the severed penis from the well but were unable to find it. He is being treated in the intensive care unit as well as receiving mental health counseling.

“He's still too shocked and embarrassed to talk or meet anyone,” said Sugeng.

At least eight men have died after allegedly drinking adulterated alcohol in the past three days in Yogyakarta as police begin an investigation into the cases.

Yogyakarta Police chief of detectives Comr. Syaiful Anwar told Antara state news agency that a man from Karangkajen district died after being treated at the city hospital, while five others from Prawirodirjan district had died on Sunday and Monday.

Syaiful said the police had formed teams to investigate whether the deaths were related.

Another two men died at Muhammdiyah Islamic Hospital on Sunday and Monday, reportedly from severe intoxication.

Syaiful said it was possible that the later deaths were also connected.

The officer said that based on reports from the local residents, four of the victims from Prawirodirjan had been consuming liquor after a wedding party in the district on Friday night.

In a recent online conversation with XANADU we spoke briefly about the inequality between men and women, and even though it has come some distance it still isn't equal.

Come on, I'm sure we have all been seduced by TV adverts and now own at least a moisturizing lotion if not more products. Sadly of course, it's all commercial and nothing to do with the balance of equality - 30€ for a pack of razors, scandalous! (cue Hovis music) I remember when I could buy a packet of razors and still have change to get the bus home for a fiver!!
I used to laugh when women would pay £50 for a hair cut, now men are following suit!?

It's a journey for sure, but times they are a changing.
Metrosexual males and strong women do exist - and lets face it, they always have they simply didn't have labels.
