Healthy people 2010

Take a look at yourself and see if you can improve your health in 2010. Over Christmas and New year we all eat and drink too much, it is nice but it has to come to an end.

I know that I have put on weight, and I feel unhealthy. My asthma is worse, as is pain in my stomach, which could indicate my ulcer is returning. I do not smoke which is a good thing. I intend to cut down on alcohol which should also help.

I will start to take Odourless garlic supplements 1000mg. This should help my Ulcer and help with my Asthma. It should also lower my cholesterol level and my blood pressure, which I know has been about 160/100, much too high. It will also lower my resistance to infection such as colds and flu.

So what else can I do?. Exercise is important. I need to do this every day. I will plan to walk about 30 minutes every day. I intend to start doing breathing exercises as explained in an earlier post.

Think positive and think healthy in 2010.

Exercise for your lungs

This exercise will help any type of lung problem, asthma, bronchitis, or breathing difficulties.

It strengthens the entire breathing system, including the skin, which is often called the " third lung".

To determine the health of the lungs and body, one should measure the length of the inhalation and exhalation. If the exhalation is longer than the inhalation, ill health is indicated, since more is going out of the lungs than is coming in.

1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and parallel to each other. Your back should be straight, your chin slightly toward your chest, and your head erect, as if the back of your neck is stretching upward.

2. Exhale all the air from your lungs and clasp your hands behind your back.

3. Now inhale slowly, expanding your lungs and pushing your hands away from your back. Keep your chin tucked into your chest, and use only your chest to breathe.

4. Exhaling, drop your hands and bring your arms out in front of you. Continue to raise your arms, bringing your hands up toward your head and then around behind your back, and back up in front of your body, completing one cycle.

5. Interlace your fingers behind your back and begin the exercise again on the inhalation.

The cycle should be done ten times, and the exercise once per day.

Medicinal uses of Cayenne red Pepper

Cayenne red pepper is used all over the world in cooking. Cayenne is very hot so should not be given to children under the age of two.
It is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine, and has warming and mucus-relieving qualities.

The fruits, or hot peppers, commonly known as chillis, contain capsaicin, a stimulant that helps control pain and dissolve blood clots. Chillis can stimulate the appetite and digestion, release phlegm and increase sweating thus helping to boost the immune system.
In moderation, powdered chillis can help heal stomach and duodenal ulcers, promoting tissue growth through the release of histamine.

Cayenne pepper is also effective in the treatment of arthritis, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney infections and respiratory problems.
