Life is Healthy

When I was a child I would watch Zorro, it was corny but it was entertaining. It always ended with a cliff hanger - Zorro was just about to die when the end of the show came.
When the following week came around I would rush to see how he survived, only to see that some kind of Twilight Zone had intervened and now he was two minutes prior to his death and able to escape with ease. BAH!

I am a big fan of Smallville and really looked at it with some hope. I liked the corny references to the superman films and Clarks life and even spotting the 'in' jokes. The first season was weak, entertaining but weak almost everyweek so Meteor infected super badguy. However I could see promise the lead characters playing Clark Kent and Lex Luthor were strong.

It did indeed improve with time and I really got into some of the episodes; which they could have develoed further - Justice League. Sadly though they opted for simplier stories and too many Kryptonite infected freaks for my liking.
As time went by the acting became better and the budget improved and they kept teasing us as Clark's powers came into being. Everyone is still waiting to see him fly. Yes, he has, but not really. As Clark had seen his cousin fly and other Kryptonians he would be tempted to at least try... ...surely!

Anyway my point was not about flying but about the fact that everyweek it leaves you thinking that the next episode is the 'ONE'. The big one where things really happen, flying, revealed idenetities or the big match between good and evil. Sadly everyweek just like with Zorro, they seem to forget where they left off and a new plot line has developed.

To be honest since the writers of season 1-7 left the following season 8 is extremely weak!
To top it all off Lex Luthor quit during the end of season 7, so no more Lex even though they keep refering to Lex in season 8.

I for one am looking forward to this season coming to an end; which it is with Clark and Doomsday facing off - and about time too!

After working hard and having to deal with my ex, I needed to get away, so first Warner Parque and now Valencia, which was a nice change of scenery and pace.

Valencia has had some wonderful structures built, which houses a science museum, 3D Cinema, Aquapark, Submarine Restaraunt, lots of aquatic areas for all sorts of fish and sealife.

The design is remarkable - but strangley to me at least the main building from the front resembled a storm troopers helmet (Star Wars) and from the rear a cyclones helmet (Battlestar Galactica) - did I watch too much TV as a kid!?!

There was a wonderful dolphin show (Sandra wanted to go) but sadly the photos came out badly, little light and wrong setting on camera :(
There was also a Superhero convention (I wanted to go) which was OK - but NO Superman!!!

Valencia 2008

Well as you can see I have updated my site completely.

It now has a new look, new playlist, new address and hopefully many new stories to come. I have enjoyed sharing the blog with Carrie who has finally headed off back to New Zealand although she is hoping to return to the UK once visa issues have been resolved: fingers crossed for her!

As for me I have had yet another two weeks off - so what to do!? Well I wrote and rewrote some scripts, and now need to test them to see how they work, also I have invested in a new friend details to come - needless to say I am looking forward to getting to know them and spend alot of time with my hand up up their ass! It's a puppet!!! boy you so rude!

You may have read in my previous posts that through work from time to time we get taken out to lunch or invited to various events and things by different media companies that we deal with! Being an opportunist, socialite, and generally up for anything, I generally jump at every opportunity we get. And this week, that’s literally what we did – JUMP!

Wednesday evening, we were picked up from work, taken to meet a luxury tour coach (and by luxury, I mean think rock star style – with TVs, leather seats, a bar, kitchenette, and circle couch at the back!) watered and fed and taken here…

And what a blast! It was like being a bird, a plane, and superman! All at the same time!!! I absolutely loved it, and even got the hang of it quite quickly – receiving cheers from the group and ‘Awesome Flying’ marked on my certificate! I was amazed though by the amount of effort needed just to hold your arms and legs in the correct position and surprised that it felt like I’d done a workout afterwards, with various muscles in shoulders, arms, back and butt aching the next day! We are meant to be getting a DVD of us flying, so when I do I’ll try upload some of it so watch this space!

Oh, life in the media is so hard…
