I Predicted This

I got up this morning--eyes sore, nose stuffed up, throat scratchy--and looked outside. It's (the snow) still there plus some. So for right now at this moment in time, I'm not going out there. I have nothing pressing. I did all of that yesterday. And it's 12 miles from my house to work with the two miles from my house to main road being the most treacherous. If I can get out, I worry all day about, "How am I going to get back?"

I predicted in October (or maybe it was even earlier) that this would be a bad winter. My sinuses have the worst they've been in years. I think my sinuses may be as good or even better than a barometer.

A Kick in the Pants
As for diet and exercise, I still haven't been exercsing. But Journey Beyond Survival has agreed to help me out, supplying motivation, inspration, and a kick in the pants. Thank you for being there. I am hoping that the next few days bring a new attitude with them.

OK. That's it. I have a headache.

Use antibiotics only if your desperate

The general advice from your doctor will be that you don't need antibiotics for a cold or even flu, unless there are complications, and this is good advice. Antibiotics if overused are not good for you and if you do overuse them they simply will not work.

My wife told me an interesting story yesterday, and this is true. Her friends mother, who is in her early seventies has been lucky enough to have never taken antibiotics in her life. Unfortunately due to a disease she has had to have part of her foot removed. She was given antibiotics to prevent infection, but because she has never had antibiotics before the healing process has been amazing, and she is feeling much better.

S0 the moral to the story is don't take antibiotics unless you are desperate. If you do need to take antibiotics it may be better to eat live yogurt after you have completed the course, as the antibiotics will kill off the good bacteria in your gut as well as the bad.

I'm Making It Quick

I just now got onto Blogger. I haven't been able to get on for a couple of days. I'm not sure why.

I did a step aerobics class this morning. The little girl who teaches this class has a lot of energy. I always feel like I should be in puddle on floor when it's over. For some reason I had a lot of leg cramps today. But I muddled my way through it.

Yesterday I went out for Chinese food at lunchtime. I thought to myself, "I like Chinese food. Why don't I eat it more often?" Well, this morning I remembered why. I woke up feeling like a blowfish. I was so puffed up. It's getting a little better now. And I had a headache. I still have a headache.

The weather is freezing here—makes it hard to do anything. I hate it when it's this cold.

I'm going to end this here. I'm afraid I'll get kicked off again.
