Two Semarang City Council members were allegedly caught with crystal methamphetamine, or shabu-shabu, in Bali.

Bambang Sutrisno is head of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) faction at the Semarang City Council, and Edy Purwanto is a member of the Democratic Party faction at the council.

The Bali Police’s narcotics division is still investigating the case. The two councillors were caught after police raided the Ramayana Hotel in Kuta.

“They visited the Badung administration as part of their work together with an entourage on Tuesday, Feb. 2,” Bali Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Gede Sugianyar Dwi Putra said Friday, as quoted by kompas.com.

“Both suspects had not used the drugs yet," Gede said.
