Celebrity named suspect for drug use

The police have named vocalist Hendra Samuel, or Sammy, from the popular boy band Kerispatih Simorangkir, a suspect for alleged drug use.
“Sammy has been declared a suspect,” Central Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Hamidin said as quoted by Antara state news agency Wednesday.
The police arrested Sammy early on Tuesday at a boarding house on Jl. Pedurenan in the Setiabudi area after catching him red-handed in possession of crystal methamphetamine. The singer was accompanied by a woman, identified as RA, when the raid occurred.
“Sammy has been the target of our operations for the last month, thanks to a tip-off from the public,” Hamidin said.
Last month, a girlfriend filed a report against Sammy for alleged attempted car theft.
Sammy’s arrest extends the list of the country’s celebrities involved in drug abuse.
