RI worker death in Malaysia raises father’s eyebrows

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta, Tue, 04/06/2010 10:05 PM

Another Indonesia migrant worker, identified as Slamet Riyadi, 45, of Jember in East Java, died following an alleged heart attack at his workplace in Malaysia on Sunday.

“Slamet’s employer called us [informing his death],” Slamet’s father, Markani, 70, told tempointeraktif.com on Tuesday.

Markani said his son phoned him on Saturday last week, saying he was fine and sound.

“I’m afraid Slamet’s death was caused by other factors,” Markani said.
